“Grand Art Deco landmark hotel ”

For over 80 years, this landmark hotel has been featured in the pages of New York’s social, political, and business diaries. John F. Kennedy owned an apartment at this hotel-and-residence block for 10 years. Ludwig Bemelmans lived here for over a year in exchange for the Madeline children’s books illustrator’s charming murals in the namesake bar. Today, white gloved elevator attendants and dramatic theatrical flowers in the lobby will leave you pining for the art of service that’s reassuringly personal.
