“Art deco icon in Mayfair”

You might be surprised to learn The Beaumont isn’t more historic than it is. It offers all the old-world luxury without actually being old. You’ll probably also be amazed how quiet it seems, considering how close to Selfridges the hotel’s location is (not to mention Mount Street, South Audley Street, South Molton Street and Bond Street). But most striking of all are its people, with a level of personalized service that’s more private club than boutique hotel. A chauffeur-driven emissions-free limousine on hand to drop you off in Mayfair, with complimentary brekkie items, and minibar treats on the house, add up to a pure relaxed luxury.

The bedroom of this unique suite occupies the interior of a giant semi-abstract sculpture by Antony Gormley, which dominates the entrance front of The Beaumont on Brown Hart Gardens. A dark, mysterious, cave-like space, ROOM encourages its occupants to enter a different state of consciousness, to enjoy at the very least a quiet, meditative pause, a prelude to a good night's sleep and the chance to withdraw, for a while, from the busy world outside. The wood-panelled bedroom is approached up stairs from the sitting room and the marble bathroom, which are decorated, like all the rooms in The Beaumont, in a soft Art Deco style. The suite also has a large private hallway and a guest bathroom.

The suite features cream lacquer panelling, brass inlaid details and parquet timber floors, while pale silk curtains, hand-made rugs, selected antiques and period works of art create a discreetly opulent setting.

The Colony Grill Room
The Colony Grill Room

A sophisticated tribute to the sleek, relaxed, clubby Grill Rooms found in New York in the early 20th century, The Colony has always been loved for its timeless menu of transatlantic favourites, served with a big helping of old-world glamour. Nathaniel Newnham-Davies captures the spirit in his 1914 ‘Gourmet Guide to London’:

“The modern Grill Room we owe, I think, to the Americans for the travelling American […] has his own very sensible ideas as to what comfort is […]. The grill-room gives him an excellent dinner, just as long or short as he likes, served quickly, in luxurious surroundings, and he can dress as he likes, to eat it.”

Breakfast is served from 7am to 10.30am*, Lunch from noon to 2.30pm* and Dinner from 6pm to 9.30pm* (closed for dinner on Sundays and Bank Holidays).

We recommend that you reserve a table in advance to dine in The Colony. *Last Booking times

The Magritte Bar & Terrace
The Magritte Bar & Terrace
Le Magritte Bar & Terrace belongs to the great tradition of American bars that became legendary in London and Paris during the 1920s. All-American bad boys from Ernest Hemingway and F Scott Fitzgerald to Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra would have felt right at home in its handsome walnut-panelled interior, hung with an eclectic collection of early 20th century paintings and photographs, including the Magritte that gives the room its name. The Bar specialises in bourbons, American whiskies and classic cocktails, which are strictly shaken or stirred. Brand-new to the hotel is the chic, sheltered terrace overlooking tranquil Brown Hart Gardens. With 1920s-style rattan armchairs and café tables enfolded by lush greenery, The Terrace will serve drinks alongside a light all-day menu.

Breakfast is served from 6.30am to 10.30am* and Lunch from noon to 5pm*. Le Magritte is open until midnight Monday to Saturday (last orders 11.45pm), and 11pm on Sundays (last orders 10.45pm).
The hotel does not take reservations for Le Magritte Bar & Terrace. *Last Orders

Gatsby's Room
Gatsby's Room
Gatsby's Room is the beating heart of the hotel: a welcoming, relaxing place to gather from early morning until late at night, punctuated by the ritual highlight of Afternoon Tea. An excellent coffee, a sophisticated cocktail, a glass of vintage Champagne, or a light meal can be enjoyed here at any time during the day and evening.

Breakfast is served from 7am to 10.45am*, an All Day Menu from noon to 10.45pm* (9.45pm* on Sundays) and Afternoon Tea at 3pm and 4.30pm*. We recommend that you reserve a table in advance for Afternoon Tea. *Last Booking times

Mount Street Gardens
Mount Street Gardens
"When I worked in Mayfair the first time, Mount Street Gardens was my second office. I loved having meetings there with colleagues. Hidden away, with access tucked behind Grosvenor Chapel, the primary school and the Mayfair library, and overlooked by private residences, it is very much a place for locals. It is beautifully kept and full of majestic trees; birds love it. It really is that cliché: an oasis in a busy city."

"Trading on the heritage and skill of several generations of manufacturing, Private White V.C. is a truly British luxury menswear brand. The collection pays homage to its namesake hero and Victoria Cross recipient, Private Jack White, the great grandfather of managing director, James Eden. Featuring classic pieces with added functionality and detail for the modern man and woman, the brand uses only the finest regionally sourced fabrics, trims and materials. Made at their Manchester factory, the Duke Street store caters to ready to wear, gifts and made-to-measure orders."

"Founder and designer Melissa Morris’ chic luxury leather goods brand, Métier, was developed for those living life permanently on the go. Handcrafted in Italy, each piece embodies timeless elegance with practicality at the fore. Its Mayfair flagship has the air of an elite gentlemen’s club, all offset with a woman’s unmistaken sensibility. A triumph in design complete with a bar at the back, a visit to the Métier shop is an essential port of call. By far my favourite bags and travel pouches."

Jamavar
Jamavar
"We are very fortunate in London to have an enormous choice of excellent Indian restaurants showcasing cuisines from different regions, and at many different price points.  In Mayfair my choice has to be Jamavar, just a few minutes’ walk from The Beaumont.  The first overseas outpost from The Leela Palaces, a group of luxury hotels across India, the quality of the produce they use is exceptional, the spicing is delicious and the staff really know their stuff, making recommendations with authority."
The Fumoir at Claridges
The Fumoir at Claridges
"Our beautiful Art Deco neighbour may be the epitome of a grand hotel, but Claridges’ bar The Fumoir is the opposite: small, intimate and jewel-like. I love a late evening stroll  there from The Beaumont for a nightcap with friends; my preference is always for a Verdant, with apple juice, smoked agave nectar, parsley and citrus, sharp, refreshing and a little mysterious."
