“Grand heritage of relaxation”

For The Dolder, “grand” is a bit of an understatement, whether you are talking about the service or the legacy of wellness (it opened as a health spa in 1899). Perched majestically on a hill amongst a wooded neighborhood, the resort stands as an example of the perfect marriage between traditional and contemporary; the main heritage castle-esque building looks like it belongs in a Swiss fairy tale, flanked by integrated modern wings. The resort also houses over 100 artworks by the likes of Warhol and Dalí. Staying here, you're bound to exclaim, isn't life grand?

The Old Town
The Old Town
The Old Town
"Today’s city centre (district 1) is where you will find the historic core of Zurich. Historically, the old town was divided into two parts: the right bank, known as the big town, and the left bank, known as the small town. The right bank, the “Dörfli” (or Niederdorf), is where the town hall – built right on the river – is located. You will also find the famous Cabaret Voltaire (the birthplace of Dadaism) and the impressive Grossmünster church on this side of the Limmat river. The left bank is home to the famous Fraumünster church, which is well known for its windows designed by Marc Chagall. Here, you can also find Zurich’s oldest district, the Schipfe. Today you are still able to roam the small streets of the former merchants’ district, which are home to many independently run boutiques and craft shops."
Bahnhofstrasse
Bahnhofstrasse
Bahnhofstrasse
"Bahnhofstrasse leads from Zurich Main Station to Lake Zurich and is generally a pedestrian area with hardly any traffic – but watch out for the trams!  It is renowned throughout the world for its luxury stores: jewellery, watches and designer boutiques can be found here. The big department stores Jelmoli, Globus and Manor have been situated on Bahnhofstrasse for many years."
Cruise on Lake Zurich
Cruise on Lake Zurich
Cruise on Lake Zurich

"Lake Zurich has a lot more to offer than nice shorelines that you can walk along. Especially in the summer months, the boats on Switzerland’s second-largest lake are highly frequented and are among the city’s most popular attractions. Departing from Bürkliplatz, the boats set out in regular intervals and take you to many different spots along Lake Zurich. Why not take a boat to Rapperswil, spend an afternoon walking around town and take the train back to Zurich? Come and see our concierge, he will be glad to advise you."

Day Trip to Uetliberg
Day Trip to Uetliberg
"The Uetliberg is Zurich’s own little mountain, marking the western end of the Albis mountain range and towering over the city at 450 metres.  When climbing up to the lookout tower on the top, you will enjoy stunning views over the city, the lake and the Glarus Alps.  Public transport from Zurich Main Station takes you up the slope to the terminal station, from where it is only a 10-minute walk to the lookout tower.  To complete the day trip, you can hike back down to the city or the lake, from where you can either take a tram or a boat to round off the day with a dinner in the city."
City Tour with Hotel Limo
City Tour with Hotel Limo
"Take advantage of the local knowledge of our Hotel’s chauffeurs and enjoy a relaxing city tour in one of our own limousines. Be it a small tour through the old town or a full three-hour tour with stops at FIFA and the Lindenhof – our concierge will be happy to advise you on your options. We customise your city tour to suit your individual requirements. For a tour for two, we recommend our Mercedes-Benz S-Class; for groups of up to four persons, we suggest taking the Mercedes-Benz R-Class; for groups of up to six people, the Mercedes-Benz Viano is the ideal car for a tour of the city of Zurich. For connoisseurs, we offer champagne during the city tour in our limousines. For information about the rates, the concierge is happy to be at your disposal."
Kronenhalle Bar
Kronenhalle Bar
"The Kronenhalle bar is most definitely one-of-a-kind. A charming retreat for very special moments, with a crew of master bartenders serving up the drinks. Ideal for aperitifs, special unforgettable hours, an early evening drink or a late night cap."
Tales Bar
Tales Bar

"The Tales Bar impresses not only with its exquisite cocktails, but also with its classic wood interior. The drinks menu, which is written like a storybook, makes for extraordinary reading. Wolfgang and Michel mix the cocktails at the bar in an expert fashion and add a personal touch with their unique and fantastic spice.

"My true insider tip would be the pulled-pork sandwich. It provides the ideal base for the many fine cocktails on offer and in the past has helped me to stave off some severe hangovers."

Goethe Bar
Goethe Bar

"The Goethe Bar and Lounge is located in the heart of the city right next to the opera house. Here you can indulge in savoir-vivre all day long, enjoy some light snacks or just relax after a busy day with a glass of wine or a cocktail."
