“Temple of Tranquility”

Aman, peace. Jiwo, soul. Who would’ve thought that two big picture words in all their vagueness could capture the heart of a place so well? The serenity in the air is palpable, undoubtedly enhanced by the constant views of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Borobudur – chants from there waft through the natural amphitheater – and the hill-and-paddy surroundings. If there’s room for more quiet contemplation, try the hike up Menoreh Hills for a silent meditation at the hilltop bale, or simply a sunset martini as you gaze over the Kedu Plains.

Best time to visit : May to September

What we Love

What we absolutely love about the property and feel sure will dazzle you too.

  • Stunning resort architecture that mirrors the design of Borobudur
  • With just 31 suites, the vibe is intimate but surprisingly family-friendly
  • Local culture is proudly presented here, including regular talks by the resident anthropologist about the resort’s famed neighbor, the world’s largest Buddhist temple, Borobudur
  • The 40m limestone infinity pool is gorgeously laid out and never busy (enough so that, dare we say, a pool villa is not necessary?)
