“Timeless Luxury on the Bund”

When it opened on the Bund in 2009, The Peninsula marked a homecoming for the parent company that ran some of the best hotels during the Golden Age of Shanghai. This heritage of excellence lends itself to the hotel’s elegance, be it the Art Deco interiors harking back to the city’s 1930s aesthetics, or the hotel’s Michelin-starred dining with a view. Shanghai is known as ‘Paris of the East’, but through luxury-tinted glasses at The Peninsula, you might just see this cosmopolitan city is so much more.

MAO Livehouse in Xuhui is a must stop by place for music lovers. It’s one of the most active concert venues in Shanghai and performance genre ranges from pop to rock, to electronic and raves. MAO Livehouse has one of the best sound systems and video set ups for live performance in the city.If someone would like to have a little taste of swing and jazz in Shanghai, I would recommend JZ Club on Julu Lu. Old Shanghai is the theme and this is the right place to catch some of the city’s top jazz acts.
