“Former Royal Guesthouse Estate”

It’s not enough that it was the former guest residence of then-King Sihanouk, tucked behind discreet entryways. It’s not enough that it’s primly located on the road to Angkor Wat. This is also an Aman, and offers everything that comes with that banner – personal services, authentic experiences, with ties to the local community. In such a majestic destination swarming with visitors, unshouted-about luxury is a genteel high road to take, and with just 24 guest rooms (half of which have private pools), you can almost believe you are a royal guest too.

Sunrise at Angkor Wat
Sunrise at Angkor Wat
Capturing the atmosphere of the temple first by moon-light and then inside as the sun rises is our preferred way to present this magnificent monument. The extensive relief panels are the main feature of the morning outing. You depart Angkor Wat by way of the cruciform terrace, passing the libraries and the grand entrance pavilion before crossing the west causeway.
Dining Experience at Khmer Village House
Dining Experience at Khmer Village House
To share Cambodia’s heritage at its most intimate, Amansara brings guests to enjoy breakfast, picnic lunches, sunset cocktails and dinner dates under the stars at Khmer Village House. Enjoy Khmer noodles after exploring the temples or open a picnic hamper full of reviving bites alongside a remote temple, perhaps combined with a helicopter ride over Angkor which we guarantee will awe you.
Countryside Jeep Rally
Countryside Jeep Rally
A slice of local rural life in the outskirts of Siem Reap and Angkor Park. Depending on the season you will catch the ritual of sugar palm sap collection, rice planting or harvesting, fishing for a tiny catch from the roadside canals and the fascinating cottage industries of sugar palm production, basket weaving and fresh rice noodles as prepared in simple village homes.
Spiritual Water Blessing
Spiritual Water Blessing
On the still rustic outskirts of Siem Reap, take a ride a remote Buddhist Pagoda to engage with Cambodian Buddhism in a more personal way by receiving an authentic water blessing. As the monk gently pours flower infused water over you, he chants to cleanse your spirit, leaving you feeling remarkably at peace.
Tonle Sap Lake Private Cruise
Tonle Sap Lake Private Cruise
Connected to the Mekong river system, the vast freshwater lake of Tonlé Sap is lined along the shore by villages of stilted wooden houses. Two Amansara lake boats cruise the waters, introducing Aman guests to one of Cambodia’s most rich and valuable ecosystems, and a way of life that has remained unchanged for centuries.
